We want to take a moment to reflect on our business and our journey to date. We want to share with you our experiences and how much we have learned. We hope that you will enjoy this read and gain a better understanding of how we work here at providing a substitute teacher in Birmingham from Secured Supply.
When we established Secured Supply, we vowed that we would never compromise on quality and we firmly believe that this is the reason why we have had so much success to date.
The substitute teacher / teaching assistant Process
Our rigorous recruitment process has enabled us to ensure that we only recruit teachers and support staff of the highest quality. All of our candidates complete a full application form, we carry out thorough safeguarding checks including online checks and, importantly, we meet every candidate face-to-face.
This process ensures that we know each substitute teacher / teaching assistant well enough to place them in schools that are best suited to their abilities and specialisms.
We work hard to ensure that all school staff who work for Secured Supply, feel a real sense of belonging and we do our very best to make their working lives as easy as possible. To achieve this, we keep channels of communication open at all times. We ensure that we check in regularly to ask how their day/week has been and we are always at the end of the phone or email to support with planning or if anyone simply fancies a chat.
We use an easily accessible app to keep up-to-date with the availability of our staff to ensure that we only call on the days that we know they are free. We also provide staff with any resources they may need to support them in the classroom. We do not ask staff to complete time sheets – we do this to prevent staff from having to wait around to get their work signed off at the end of each day.
We extend the same approach to all of our schools, in that we make every effort to go into each school in person and meet the Head Teacher and/or staff whom we will be liaising with. It is such a privilege to be afforded the opportunity to get to know each school better in order to fully understand their needs.
Feedback from our staff and the staff in schools continues to humble us. We are so grateful to every single person we are working with and for everyone who has taken to time to feed back to us and let us know how pleased they are with the service that we are providing – we feel very blessed.
We continue to recruit new staff, particularly teachers and teaching assistants looking to work on a supply basis in schools and welcome applications from anyone who feels that we are the perfect fit for them.
We also welcome the opportunity to grow our family of schools so that we can support them in ensuring that they continue to have excellent teachers in each classroom – which is what every child deserves.
