Safer Recruitment Procedures
Secured Supply pride themselves on their robust safer recruitment procedures. Our processes are planned and structured to ensure that staff appointed to work in schools are able to clearly demonstrate their suitability for the role.
- Roles advertised/promoted clearly define the job description and person specification required and includes safeguarding responsibilities.
- Every advert specifies that the role involves working with children and a statement about our commitment to keeping children safe.
- Every candidate is subject to a criminal records check (DBS) and this requirement is clearly defined within each advert. Secured Supply will confirm the proof address and identity of each candidate in line with acceptable documents, approved by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
- Candidates are required to complete a full application form prior to recruitment.
- Pre-employment checks are carried out for every candidate and candidates are required to provide Secured Supply with suitable references who can verify their suitability and ability to work with children and young people.
- All candidates will undertake a face-to-face interview with the directors of Secured Supply, in which they will demonstrate their knowledge of child protection and understanding.
- Right to Work checks are carried out for every candidate to ensure that they have the right to work in the UK. If the candidate has been resident overseas for three months or more over the past five years, Secured Supply will ensure that criminal record checks have been undertaken for that candidate in that country.
- Checks will be undertaken to ensure that candidates have not be disqualified from working with children.
- Prior to recruitment, online searches are carried out by Secured Supply on every candidate to ensure suitability for each role.
- All qualifications held by candidates, will be confirmed by Secured Supply staff.
- Any gaps in a candidate’s work history, will be checked and verified by Secured Supply.
- Candidates will be asked to declare any convictions, cautions or reprimands, warnings or bind-overs which they have incurred as part of the recruitment process.
