My Journey from Teacher to Supply

I started teaching in 2013 working as a class teacher in rural Solihull. After teaching there for 2 and half years, I decided that I wanted to open my opportunities and embrace a new surrounding. I joined a school in inner Birmingham and my journey flourished from there. I was leading Maths, head of Upper Phase and working around the clock to provide the best for my students. However, ultimately the person I was neglecting was myself.

One day, Francesca came into school to cover one of our classes and we started talking. She spoke about her company, Secured Supply Ltd and what they could offer. Immediately I was interested, (along with talking to other friends and ex-colleagues who worked for Fran and Natalie), I decided to take the plunge.

Francesca and Natalie were so approachable and amazing. Our first time talking together was in a relaxed manner in person. I have never felt more at ease meeting two people, we laughed and talked openly about what I was looking for. I left there feeling so optimistic.

After the half term, my phone immediately buzzed and I was asked to work in a school local to me. Despite feeling nervous walking in there for the first time, I felt a level of excitement. Constantly, Fran and Natalie communicated to me throughout the day. Both are brilliant, always there for me and supportive. They continuously cater to my needs and in doing so has renewed my love of my job but now I can also have a life for myself.

I am forever grateful to the two of them. If you are ever questioning the decision to do it, take the plunge.
